Socket LGA 1156

Intel (Land Grid Array) LGA 775 slowly but surely be condemned by the socket LGA 1156. But the era of this new intel socket may be not certain long.

To be connected to the motherboard, a processor embedded in a special holder (socket). Since Intel’s Pentium IV up to Core 2 Quad, Intel never replace the used socket.

However, lately, a new socket also comes as the emergence of various types of new Intel processors. Socket LGA 1156, was positioned Intel as the standard current socket ‘evicted’ LGA 775.

LGA 1156 had still not familiar among computer users, already blowing news that Intel will implement a new socket standards, in the upcoming processor. However, the Intel could not yet confirm this news.

“We are planning a new system next year, just do not have certainty, would use a different socket or not,” said Budi Wahyu Jati, Intel’s Country Manager, Indonesia, in Blowfish Cafe, Jakarta, Tuesday, (19/1/2010) .

More puzzling that, despite having a socket different, but the name of the processor can be used might be the same. It has been proven on the type of Core i7, which some use LGA 1156 and partly with the LGA 1366.
