That’s where the money is my friend. The creators of this technology don’t care about the positive uses of this technology, they’re looking to making a multi-billion dollar contract with Dick Cheney.

Great. Another amazing inovation of technology and the first thing they think of how they can use it is for war. . .

Sure would be fun to watch them (the terrorists) run in fear of a few squadrons of those things fitted with armor and miniguns before they got their emp weapons though >:D

It might become an issue when/if these things do go into service, until then these would be an impressive addition on the battle field. All depending on how good the armor they put on them is going to be. Not much point putting something out there if an AK-47 can still kill the guy controlling it.

The only problem is power sources. This thing is attached to a power source of some sort off camera. Once the battery technology catches up these things will probably go into service in some form or another. Also it is possible to EMP shield almost anything that requires electronics to control it. It’s just something that they wouldn’t bother doing unless they had to do it. After all, how many nations supply weapons capable of delivering an EMP charge to their soldiers?

hard fact of modern warfare. There are no conventional enemies, such as Germany in WWII. But this is because everyone knows if they were to get in a conventional war with the US they would have their asses handed to them. So ppl use non-conventional warfare (terrorism) against the US cause then we cant bring our big guns to bear. As soon as we stop being the super military badass, there will be conventional enemies.

land troops are always necessary. A military can operate with only infantry, but no military can be effective without them
