Western Digital released WD VelociRaptor with a larger capacity
Western Digital (WD) VelociRaptor, it can be said to be the fastest hard drive in its class. Unfortunately, some users still complaining about the relatively small capacity when compared with other hard drive.
In response, the WD soon release two new families of the VelociRaptor that is already well known for their performance. Both products are WD4500HLHX (capacity 450GB) and WD6000HLH (600GB capacity).
Although the present with a large capacity, but those products still carry the features of the VelociRaptor family, such as, read-write speeds are high because it was backed by 32MB of cache memory and the speed of rotation up to 10,000 per Minutes Rotation (RPM).
To maintain a high temperature due to the rotation, WD IcePack also installed in these two types of hard drives. IcePack is a mounting frames, complete with fins are used as ‘home’ for the hard drive. So even if turned on continuously, hardsik performance will remain intact.
New family of WD VelociRaptor has officially come on the market with price range of U.S. $ 299 for 450 GB capacity, and U.S. $ 350 for the berkapsitas 600 GB.
